Questions unanswered

I got a couple of questions thats needs to be answered. It may sound stupid, but here goes:

1.How did hot dogs get their names when the food itself has nothing to do with dogs?

2.How did michael jackson's 'moonwalk' got its name?

3.Why are soft drinks called soft drinks?

4.Why is a hard disk called hard disk?

5.Can anyone give me the real definition of 'ah lians' and 'ah bengs' ?

I'll be glad if anyone reading this can give me some answers to these questions. I need some enlightment. Thank you.

The hazy national anthem

My friend sent me this haze themed national anthem. Very creative. To whoever that wrote this national anthem, i salute you! Here goes:

Negaraku, Tanah tumpahnya jerebu
Rakyat hidup, sesak dan layu
Rahmat bahgia, penjual topeng muka
Raja kita, kena pakai juga
Rahmat bahgia, penjual topeng muka
Raja kita, kena pakai juga

Maybe next time when the flood season starts, could someone out there come up with a new flood themed national anthem?

Memories....

I was surfing through my hard drive when i came across a few photos taken when i went for RYLA ( Rotary Youth's Leadership Award) Camp at Kota Tinggi in Johor last year during December. First time in Johor. What a difference compared to this city. Its almost like heaven and hell. The shopping malls there are better and bigger. Things in Johor are cheaper too. Too bad time wasn't on our side during our last day there. Here a few photos taken during the camp. I'll post more soon.

The haze is back again. Can we be happy here? Definitely not. The schools in West Malaysa are having a few days of holidays as a result of the haze. How cool. We could use a few days of holidays here. The conditions here are not so good either compared to the conditions there. The air smells bad too. We need a few holidays to chill out. I'm sure many students agree with me. Those good old days in the year 1997 are gone. By the way, my friend Desmond bought himself a new bag. Finally. How awsome. After months of complain, he finally got himself a new bag. I don't know what to write again here. Just simply updating to fulfill the pledge i made to myself. Maybe i'll post again tonight after i get my brain functioning completely. Need to get some maths homework done right now. I'll go look for some weird pictures to post on my blog again tonight.

dreaded ASSembly

I hate assembly. Everyone hates assembly. I bet even the teachers hate assembly. I'd rather have mr gabriel's class than assembly on a not so beautiful wednesday morning. I just found out that there might be an assembly tomorrow. Damn it. A few reasons why i hate ASSemblies:
1.Non-stop bullshit and irrelevant talks from prefects, teachers and out dear headmaster.
2.The air is saturated with the smell of sweat, cheap perfumes and deodorants, lousy ones.
3.Crowds.
4.I'm one on the individuals with the highest probability of getting caught because of my hairstyle. Why me? Why not other people?
5.Everyone is forced to sing the principal's favourite song. To our dear principal: Why ask us to sing? Thats YOUR favourite song, NOT OURS!
6.Its nature's law that humans hate assembly. It has been that way since a few thousands of years ago.

Toilet rules

I just found out that our school implemented a new rule today. All toilets will be closed during class hours and opens only before school, during recess and after school. How ridiculous. Looking on the bright side, i've decided what i want to study next time. I'm seriously considering taking up a course which has something to do with bladder and urinary system as the number of students facing bladder problems might steadily increase if our current situation does not change. What a business opportunity, fixing and servicing people's waste disposal system for a living. Cool huh?

the motivation

Last thursday, our "dear" school had a "motivational" talk by the least motivational individual in the school, the small man sitting in the big seat in some air conditioned room guarded by unfriendly looking clerks and a bunch of junkies, probably school dropouts. The "motivational" man was our dear principal. Believe me, this guy is short, very very short. On the contrary, he drives a Prado. I thought Prado was supposed to be a car for big and tall people? Anyway, on to the main story. The motivational talk was anything but motivational. The hall was hot like hell and the heavy smell of sweat was in the air. Damn it. Fortunately my friend and i stand right under a wall fan. So we fixed the fan's position so that it blows the air to us and only us. Probably i just earned the hate of a few more people, but i don't give a fucking damn. Throughout the entire session, my focus was on my watch, waiting for the crap to end. After what seems like an eternity, the shit talk ended. I left the hall more unmotivated than before i entered the hall. What a bummer.
